Weslie leverages their extensive background in public administration and privacy laws, specializing in handling access requests for municipal clients in BC and across Canada. A passionate advocate for Open Government principles, Weslie is always eager to discuss the importance of stewarding and safeguarding information entrusted to all levels of government.

Before joining PrivacyWorks, Weslie worked in local government as a Deputy Corporate Officer, where they were responsible for responding to access requests and ensuring compliance with privacy legislation. Weslie first encountered PrivacyWorks at a professional forum for Corporate Officers, when they sought assistance (and commiseration) from their peers regarding the growing number and increasing complexity of access requests faced by their municipality. Having heard from other Corporate Officers how PrivacyWorks had helped them manage their access requests, Weslie returned to their local government and reached out to PrivacyWorks for assistance.
