When a new system initiative requires a Privacy Impact Assessment, a Security Threat Risk Assessment (STRA) may also be required. Security assessments require different skill sets, but are equally important demonstrating that your chosen technology and architecture can adequately protect your data. Like a PIA, the STRA also identifies potential risks and provides mitigation strategies to address them.
