Shelly has over 20 years of experience as a Privacy Specialist starting her career within the BC Health Authorities, during which time she served as a member and co-chair of the BC Provincial Health Information Privacy & Security Operations Committee (HIPSOC). Shelly has assisted private and public sector organizations at both provincial and federal levels produce complex Privacy Impact Assessments for single and multi-jurisdictional initiatives, comprehensive privacy training materials, policies and clinical auditing processes, privacy breach investigations, and information-sharing.
